Manifesting Love in Your Life

By: Caroline Sutherland

February is the month of hearts, flowers and Valentines. It is not always a happy month for a lot of people who may be missing that special someone in their lives.

If you get depressed right around Valentine’s Day, maybe you’re a single parent or maybe you’ve been on your own for a number of years and you figure – it is time! Here are a few words to help dispel the myth that life and love has passed you by.

I can relate to this situation. I remember years ago sitting on a log on the beach, looking out at the sunset and thinking that if only “he” was sitting beside me, the sunset would be more beautiful. It must be an important test by the Universe and it certainly is a step in growth to come to a place of acceptance and even enjoyment of time on your own. I went through this, I understand. But not that many years later I discovered that flowers, sunsets, solo walks in nature are a gift and not necessarily better because someone else is with us. I also found during this time that I became more spiritually connected and it didn’t matter who or what was in my life I was closer to God and therefore never alone.  When we come to accept our aloneness we come closer to accepting ourselves.

I love a book by friend and fellow Hay House author Lauren Mackler: Solemate – Master the Art of Aloneness and Transform Your Life. Many people spend years waiting for an ideal partner - a "soul mate" to make them feel happy and complete. Others settle for unfulfilling relationships out of fear of being alone. Your goal is to achieve mastery of your own life so you can experience a sense of wholeness and happiness whether you're on your own or in a relationship.

So my advice to you this Valentine’s Day or any day is to book a massage, buy yourself a bunch of flowers, have lunch with a friend, go to a movie and tell yourself how much you love and value yourself. When you fully love, appreciate and value yourself, then you are more likely to attract someone who feels the same way. Yes, prepare to bring that special someone into your life. I believe that everything happens in its own time, but in the meantime rejoice and be glad in all the benefits of being on your own.

I have a wonderful CD called “Couples ~ Serenity and Tranquility in Love and in Life. The scripting on this CD is especially created to help deepen your loving relationship with your mate and with yourself.
