Hello Everyone!

Summer is in full swing. I hope you have your toes hanging over the edge of a dock or your feet in the sand as often as possible this summer. I am in to some good books - books are summer for me! As well, I'm spending time on my boat and having fun with my grandchildren. Life is short - summer is short - recharge your batteries and enjoy!

Blessings,

Caroline

A Walk of Faith

The walk of faith is a daily discipline. To actually believe that there is a higher power at work in the Universe and that things are unfolding just as they should. If we have faith in this principle, then why should we worry? I am sure we were all captivated by Nik Wallenda's walk across the Grand Canyon. Every step of the way he stayed in prayer and gratitude. He was skilled, he knew his craft but he took the walk of faith. Even though we are not literally walking the high wire across such a deep chasm, as we live our lives, dealing with life's ups and downs can feel just like a high wire. We need to remember that we walk in faith, and that every event forms the tapestry of our lives - for our best and highest good.

Dr. Steven Ayre - In Memoriam

Through a serendipitous encounter, I met Dr. Steven Ayre M.D., in the mid-1990's. He and his wife Sara, arrived at the hotel where I was speaking, in search of all things - an ice cream cone, and somehow they ended up in my seminar. That is where I learned about the genius cancer treatment method - Insulin Potentiation Therapy. During subsequent years, I had several meetings with him and interviewed him on my radio show.  I had numerous discussions with this wonderful man and I sent many people to his clinic and to investigate IPT low-dose chemotherapy. Dr. Ayre was brave, curious and unwavering in his quest to bring IPT and adjunct therapies into the public domain. He "knew" that IPT was not only important but pivotal in the successful treatment of cancer. He saved many lives and captivated and motivated other doctors to continue the quest to treat cancer naturally, without debilitating side effects. What is the legacy that you plan to leave with your life? Trust your gut, follow your guidance and do what you believe is right and necessary. Make your life matter in positive ways.

Books I Am Reading This Summer

I have a stack of books on my patio table and a fully loaded Kindle - ready for great summer reading. Click on book images for more information!

Bonhoffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy by Eric Metaxas. Who better to face the greatest evil of the 20th century than a humble man of faith? Dietrich Bonhoffer was a pastor and author who stood up to the Hitler regime and helped to smuggle Jews into neutral Switzerland. Bonhoffer is a story of a life framed with a passion for truth and a commitment to justice on behalf of those who face implacable evil.

Immortal Diamond: The Search for our True Identity by Richard Rohr. Rohr is a former Franciscan priest and well-known author of numerous books. And while the book is about Christian mysticism, and peppered with Biblical quotes, I have found it to be a great reference for living an authentic life. Rhor talks about the two chapters that we live - one unconscious - Chapter One, and the other - Chapter Two where we wake up and live from a true place of conscious awareness and authenticity. This book likens the True Self to a diamond, buried deep within us, formed under the intense pressure of our lives, that must be searched for, uncovered, separated from all the debris of ego that surrounds it. In a sense the True Self must be resurrected, and that process is not resuscitation but transformation.

The Eighty Dollar Champion: Snowman - The Horse That Inspired a Nation, by Elizabeth Letts. I love a true story. Harry de Leyer first saw the horse he would name Snowman on a truck bound for the slaughterhouse. The recent Dutch immigrant recognized the spark in the eye of the beaten-up nag and bought him for eighty dollars. On Harry's modest farm on Long Island, he ultimately taught Snowman how to fly. Here is the dramatic and inspiring rise to stardom of an unlikely duo. One show at a time, against extraordinary odds and some of the most expensive thoroughbreds alive, the pair climbed to the very top of the sport of show jumping. Their story captured the heart of Cold War-era America-a story of unstoppable hope, inconceivable dreams, and the chance to have it all. They were the longest of all long shots-and their win was the stuff of legend.

Calling In "The One" 7 Weeks to Attract The Love Of Your Life by Katherine Woodward Thomas. This book helps to clear away the obstacles that have been holding you back from love. Discover the ancient law of attraction and start creating your best life to bring in your perfect partner. There is a daily lesson in each of the 49 days of Thomas's thoughtful and life-affirming plan that puts you in the ideal emotional state to go out into the world and find "The One." Her online course is excellent as well.

Young at 70!

Imagine sailing around the globe single-handed at 70! People are doing great things in their later years and at 70 a British woman has become the oldest woman to sail solo around the world after arriving at Victoria B.C.'s Inner Harbour earlier this month.

This was the third attempt for Jeanne Socrates, a retired math teacher, since 2009. Engine trouble ended the first attempt, and the second ended in 2010 during a storm off Cape Horn.

Socrates set out from Victoria, B.C., in her 11-metre cruiser Nereida last October for her epic journey around the world proving that you are never too old to fulfill your dreams.
