Hello Everyone!Caroline Cabin

I hope you are all enjoying a happy and relaxing summer. This is a time to build your  immune system and your "memory banks" doing the things that you love with your family and friends! This summer I am enjoying boating, swimming in the ocean, and spending time with my children and grandchildren. This is a casual photo while I'm watching my grandchildren play "tag" in the orchard at the cabin. Children grow up so fast - enjoy every minute of it!

Blessings, Caroline

The Complex World of Microbes

Many of us in the world of complementary medicine have always known that the "gut" is the command post of the human body. When you take a Medical Intuitive Training with me, you'll find that the "7 key areas of the body that hold clues" to body imbalances, are all related to the gut. Ask any practitioner and they will tell you that if you want to improve memory, if you want to improve energy and stamina, if you want pain and inflammation to back off, or if you want to improve the respiratory system,

Probiotic Bacteria
Probiotic Bacteria

you have to start with the gut. What you eat, how you digest it and the millions of microbes in the gut and their balance or imbalance, largely determine your over-all health. Odd that science has largely missed this obvious premise. But now, scientists are starting to study the micro-flora in the gut, and they are coming up with some surprising findings. For a hundred years, doctors have waged war on infections with antibiotics - but at what cost? Just look at TV advertizing for various preparations and OTC medications to treat toenail fungus, vaginal yeast infections, eczema, psoriasis, dandruff, asthma and allergies, which are largely related to an imbalance of gut flora caused by the over-use of antibiotics. The wide-spread use of antibiotics has given rise to antibiotic resistant diseases such as C. difficile (Clostridium difficile) which can invade a person's gut following a course of antibiotics. Since 2009, the number of hospitalized patients with C. dif has doubled from 139,000 to 336,000 cases. C. difficile is hard to eradicate. Finally science is discovering probiotics, acidophilus, lactobacillus biffidus something that we alternative types have known for years. Nice to see that scientists are discovering the garden of the gut. I just wonder what took them so long. Read more here!

Summer Reading - Wild

Up until now, I haven't really responded to Oprah's Book Club selections because I don't read novels. Without making a conscious decision, in 1983 when my life took a spiritual focus, I gave up reading novels and preferred reading true stories, biographies, memoirs, medical or spiritual books. A few weeks ago with my toes hanging off the edge of the dock, I happened to be reading the Oprah magazine where she raved about Cheryl Strayed's book - Wild. A true story - great I thought, this should be right up my alley!

Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail details Strayed's 1100-mile solo trek on the arduous Pacific Crest Trail, in 1995 - a journey definitely not for the faint of heart! She made the trek when she was 26 years old and trying to recover from the loss of her mother to cancer and the breakup of her marriage. The book came out in March and earned rave reviews. I am enjoying this page- turner, though written about a young person's quest for meaning, has universal appeal. Wild is a compelling story and the writing is excellent.

Caroline Sutherland - Medical Intuitive Training
Caroline Sutherland - Medical Intuitive Training

This course is designed to familiarize the practitioner and the lay person with some of the ways that intuition comes to us, and to personalize these instincts to better assist ourselves, our clients and patients.

Description of the phenomenon of medical or physical-body intuition: Medical intuition is a potent form of inner wisdom that is our birthright. Intuition comes to us as inner knowing - a revelation, a gut hunch, a physical feeling, sensation or realization. Intuition is not dependent on the rational mind. Medical Intuition is not just the domain of a few gifted people. Everyone has the ability to see the body with "new eyes" - and to "feel" instinctively - what may be out of balance on the physical, emotional and spiritual levels.

I Like This Skin Cream

Nerium When I visited my friends in Iowa this spring, I got a chance to try a marvelous skin cream.  I've been using it for 7 weeks now and I'm finding that many of the fine lines and wrinkles, especially around my mouth, are starting to disappear, my pores are getting smaller and my neck firmer. Nerium AD is a wonderful new botanical, anti-aging night cream developed from an extract of the Nerium oleander plant and several effective age-defying ingredients. Third-party clinical trials show that NeriumAD dramatically reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, uneven skin texture, enlarged pores and aging or sun-damaged skin. Email Donna or call 641-233-7226. I think you'll be quite pleased.
