Hello Everyone,

September is off to a flying start - in my world. My programs are in full swing and my Medical Intuitive Training comes up at the end of October in Bellingham Washington.

Louise & Caroline My friend and mentor Louise Hay says,"I am always learning something new." What are you adding to your interests this fall? I am enjoying my fall with the Old Testament study of the book of Job, the ancient hero who endured suffering through patience, and, on another note, I'm dusting off my jive moves in anticipation of a rock and roll dance coming up next month!

I love to teach people how to get healthy, stay healthy and full of vitality. Health is a gift - culture it, and nourish it, so that you will live out your years with zest and optimism! If you have always wanted to attend my Medical Intuitive Training (October 24-26, 2014) and finances have stood in your way, I am offering two scholarships this year. Kaayla Daniel, Ph.D., nutritionist and author of The Whole Soy Story will be my guest on my radio show on Monday October 20 at 8am PT.  

 

This no-nonsense, no-mincing-words expert on diet and health will tell you what you need to know about soy. She is also due to release a book on the myths and facts about fat in the diet. Most people think that dietary fat is dangerous, raises cholesterol, and contributes to plaque in the arteries. But, according to Kaayla Daniel - this is not so! A Book I like
 

   

As you know, the last couple of months have been devastating for me and my family with the death of my dear younger sister Frannie. A few laughs here and there have been very helpful. My daughter turned me on to Tina Feys' book
Bossy Pants which is now out in paperback. Bossypants is an autobiographical comedy book written by American comedian Tina Fey. The book topped The New York Times Best Seller list
, and stayed there for five weeks upon its release. Since its release, the book has sold over one million copies in the U.S. You can pick up that book and on any page find a humorous line or two which will have you in stitches!

Be Careful of Facebook

 

Please, please, please monitor your spouse's and your family's activities on Facebook. Just today I heard another story of a wife discovering a photo of her husband in a compromising position with a woman in his sailing crew. May have been innocent but this photo is now circulating for all the world to see, and it is devastating his wife! She feels that this social association is undermining her marriage. A marriage bond between two people is precious. Do all that you can to discuss Facebook and appropriate online activities with your family members. As you know, I have my own story around Facebook and how it destroyed my marriage.

 


Pharmacist Larry Frieders

Interview and Recipe

  
Pharmacist Larry Frieders and I had a great interview last week discussing Bone Density and Multiple Sclerosis. Did you know that there is a direct link between MS symptoms and low progesterone? Take a look at his website for wonderful information on a variety of health topics here. During the interview, Larry gave us a delicious recipe for his sweet potato hash - a favorite in the Frieders household.

 

Sweet Potato Hash 

  • 1 pound nitrite free bacon - cut in one inch squares
  • 2 pounds grass fed ground beef
  • 2 organic sweet potatoes - cubed, but not peeled
  • Sea Salt and Ground Pepper to taste
  • Fry the bacon until almost crisp.
  • Do not remove the bacon grease.
  • Add the hamburger and mix with the bacon.
  • Cook at medium high heat until beef is browned.
  • Add the sweet potato cubes and toss to mix.
  • Lower heat and cover
  • Ready to serve when sweet potatoes are fork-tender

This is excellent alone and as a side dish with vegetables. We like the leftovers with scrambled eggs in a frittata.
